It was several days ago when we received an e-mail from James Brown of Richmond Towers Communication Ltd., London and he asked if the Whisky Boys would be interested in doing a tasting of a Chivas Regal 18 year old blend. Well it took all of a micro second for us to reply saying we would love to and no sooner said and done than a parcel arrived containing two sample bottles of the 18 year old dram.

Wednesday 28th July 2010 and Nicola has just popped in, so there was nothing else to do but open a wee bottle and have an impromptu tasting.

This dram has no-age-statement and “Bradan Orach” is Gaelic for Golden Salmon.

This little Whisky is not well known in the UK but Speyburn is the sixth most popular single malt in the USA.

It is early evening on Sunday 25th July 2010 and Jim is round at Nicola’s for a wee tasting and joining us is Nicola’s neighbour Lee who has been a guest taster in the past.

From previous blogs you will know that Jim brought back Nicola a bottle of Tyrconnell Whiskey which he purchased on his visit to Kilbeggan Distillery last month.

Wednesday 23rd June and this is the third of our tastings with our two guest tasters Phil and Reg, if you check our other two tastings on Bowmore Whisky and Glenturret Whisky, you will get all the background of our guests for tonight.

It is Wednesday 23rd June 2010 and all three Whisky Boys are round at Jim’s for tonight’s triple tasting event.

On this evening we have two guest tasters with us and both of them are Irish.

This is the third of the three tastings (see tastings on Linkwood Whisky and Tomintoul Whisky) Dougie and I had this evening (Thursday 17th June 2010) and it is the one that we left for the last.

This is the second of Dougie’s three tasting bottles. Tomintoul is the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland. Tomintoul Distillery is located in the Glenlivet Estate at Ballantruan.
