Dewar’s 12 Year Old Special Reserve, Blended Scotch Whisky

It is early evening and for a change we decided to taste and review Dougies favourite Blended Scotch Whisky.

Dewar’s 12 Year Old Special Reserve, Blended Scotch Whisky

This blend is the creation of the master blender Tom Aitken, (only the sixth master blender in Dewar’s history) he surely knows what he is doing, and that’s for sure.

Colour:- Golden Bronze from the bottle turning to a syrup gold when water is added.

Dougie found the following:- A scent of honeyed smoke. A big flavour, full of spice and oak with a long lasting afterglow. A big winner in all departments.

Jim found differences from Dougie:- A pleasant aroma of sweet fruit. Very smooth and well rounded. A beautiful long lasting full flavoured finish.

This is Dougies bestest ever blend in the whole wide world ever.

Jim can see why this is a De Luxe blend, that will take a lot of beating if indeed it can be.

At the moment this Whisky is only available in selected markets and travel retail outlets

Dewar’s please hear the plea of the Whisky Boys make this fabulous Whisky more widely available there are guys (and gals) who need, and must be able to taste, savour, appreciate and fully enjoy a great blend that I can say with honesty does beat a good few single malts out there.

Jim is converted, this blend will be in his cabinet and sideboard as a regular visitor.

You could say this 12 year old is too good to be an every day dram, only kept for special occasions, but drink it when you can and just appreciate a honest true Scotch.
